Birthplace of Giacomo Puccini
On 13th September 2011, the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini in Lucca’s historical centre was reopened. This is where the composer spent his youth until the age of 22.
Today it has been transformed into a museum, displaying objects that belonged to him: furniture and precious awards, autographs on important compositions from his youth and a rich collection of the last moments of the composer’s life, including the Steinway piano on which he composed his last piece: the Turandot.
